A multiwall sack is a large bag capable of holding 25 kg of product or more, made of 3-6 plies or layers of kraft paper which can be strengthened by incorporating reinforced materials (as plastic) to provide additional strength or protection against moisture, penetration of chemicals or odors.
There are three types of sack or bag:This is a multiwall paper sack which is sewn or pasted at one end and open at the other. The open top can be closed after filling by glueing or sewing.
This multiwall paper sack is pasted or glued at both ends and fitted with a self-closing valve. This sack can be sewn at one or both ends.
This bag is made of one ply of paper and it is self-opening on the top side (SOS-bag) and pasted at the bottom (block-bottom).
A sack or bag has face (width), gusset, and length.
Face or width refers to the two large areas of the sack or bag; gusset refers to the two narrow sides of the sack; length refers to the height of the sack when standing, and for the pasted type, gusset refers to the bottom side of the sack.
